Background

On March 14–16, 2008, the Hanover Lions Club will host its 56th Auto, Boat, and RV Show in Dartmouth's Leverone Field House. The first show, held in the Fall of 1950, was housed on a sand floor in the college's now-demolished Davis Hockey Rink and displayed about 30 of the "very latest" 1950 automobiles. Subsequently, until the early 60s, the show took place on the dirt floor of the Alumni Gym. Since then, with few exceptions (there were no shows in 1951, 1974, and 1975), the show has been located in Dartmouth's outstanding Leverone Field House. Although primarily created to display new model automobiles, over time the Auto Show's scope was broadened to include trucks, boats, and RVs, as well as a wide variety of outdoor recreational equipment and activities.

Fun: For the crowd's entertainment the Show will be featuring the following GREAT ACTS:

  • A magic show,
  • Our own Lion Bill Hammond and his clown on a unicycle,
  • The kids can have their faces painted by Hanover's "Youth-in-Action" high school volunteers.
  • The very popular Lions' Show 50/50 raffle will be held with daily drawings and we split the pot with the winners. (You do NOT have to be there to win!)
  • Again, the Enfield Lions Club will be staffing the food services. They have received many compliments for their GOOD FOOD and GOOD PRICES!

There is free parking across the street at Thompson Field House and at a nearby (3/4-mile) satellite parking lot which is served, about every 7 to 10 minutes, by a free shuttle bus that stops at the Leverone Field House.
